Finding Housing Resources The lack of affordable and accessible housing in North Carolina remains a significant barrier to meeting the needs of the extremely low income households, the elderly and persons with disabilities. This PDF provides information about housing resources in your community.
IDEA: Building the Legacy of IDEA 2004 This website features information about the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) which is a law ensuring services to children with disabilities. Information is grouped into Part C (ages birth-2) and Part B (ages 3-21).
Impact: Feature Issue on Aging and People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities This special issue of Impact Newsletter offers practical and challenging perspectives on supporting aging adults with disabilities and their families. Its articles from individuals with disabilities, service providers, advocates, family members, and researchers cover topics ranging from family relationships, spirituality, and health, to community inclusion, futures planning, and "what growing older means to me."

NC Division of Public Health The North Carolina Division of Public Health website includes helpful information on health promotion, disease prevention, chronic diseases, injury, arthritis and osteoporosis.
NC Division on Aging and Adult Services This website provides a variety of resources and information for North Carolina's older adults, persons with disabilities and their families.
NCDVRS Community Rehabilitation Specialists Located across the state, community rehabilitation programs provide employment-related services for people with disabilities. The services provided may range from a few to several, depending upon local community needs and available funding. This website includes a list of community rehabilitation programs and rehabilitation specialists.
Quality & Safety at UNC Health Care This site provides information about quality of care measures and patient satisfaction efforts at UNC Health Care, including quality of care data, awards, resources and initiatives.
Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) Provided by the North Carolina Department of Insurance, this website includes information about Medicare and SHIIP, including a list of local SHIIP counselors.
Services and Advocacy for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender Elders SAGE offers a wide variety of services and programs for LGBT seniors. This website includes information for seniors, caregivers and local and national organizations.

VA Caregiver Support Website The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Caregiver Support website provides information about available resources and assistance to VA caregivers. Assistance is also available via the National Caregiver Support Hotline at 1-855-260-3274 (open Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time).
