Alliance of Disability Advocates/ Center for Independent Living (Alliance) is committed to helping people with disabilities live independently and become productive, full participants in society. The entire staff and board, most of whom have disabilities, support people with disabilities in their efforts toward such life-affirming goals.
The North Carolina Reading Service (NCRS) is a non-profit information agency which operates 24 hours a day on an audio network of radio, television, cable and internet stream. NCRS disseminates current news, information and entertainment from the print media for people who are blind or have low vision or other physical and cognitive disabilities. NCRS loans out specially tuned receivers, free of charge, to those living in the broadcast area.
