The mission of the Chatham County Council on Aging is to promote and encourage independent living and physical and mental wellness through agency activities among the population over 60 years of age.

The Chatham County Department of Social Services will protect vulnerable children and adults; strengthen and preserve families; provide access to health care and better nutrition; and promote economic stability while encouraging personal responsibility. The Hispanic Liaison is a community based, non-profit organization founded in 1995. Our mission is to foster cultural understanding between Latinos/as and other residents of Chatham County, and to empower Hispanics to overcome the challenges they face as immigrants and find their voice in the community.

Our senior centers are one-stop hubs for older adults to access services and programs through the Department on Aging. We offer an array of activities, special events, trips, classes, clubs, lifelong learning, recreation and drop-in programs. We provide information, counseling, and services to help individuals and their families navigate the medical, personal, and social transitions that may accompany aging.
